Drip Edge
used to complete a metal roof at the edge

This is a completed drip edge detail. The following illustrations and steps will describe how to form this detail on a brake.

Step 1 :

Place the panel on the bed with the edge of the panel extending 1/2" from under the clamp. Note: the colored side is face down on the bed of the brake. Raise the apron to complete this bend.

Step 2 :

Raise the clamp and slide the panel back until the radius of the first bend is flush with the edge of the bed and the lip is under the clamp. Clamp down to complete this bend.

Step 3 :

Remove panel from the brake and flip it so that the colored side of the panel is now facing up towards the clamp and the radius is flush with the end of the apron. Bend the apron 90° to complete this bend.

Step 4 :

Pull the material out so that the distance between the pinch point of the clamp and the corner of the previous bend measures 1". Raise the apron to complete this bend.

Step 5 :

Remove the panel and flip it over so that the colored side is once again face down on the bed of the brake. The distance between the downward bend and the pinch point of the clamp should measure 1". Raise the apron to complete this bend.

Step 6 :

Remove the panel and rotate it so that the bend previously completed is now facing the clamp. Note: the colored side of the panel remains facing up for this bend. The bend made in step 5 should be pressed against the nose of the clamp. Lower the clamp and raise the apron 45° to complete this bend.
