Problem: Seamer makes a single flat seam or down lip.
When running the K9 Power Seamer over pre-formed panels the result is a single flat seam instead of a double lock standing seam.
Reason: Female lip of panel is too long.
The source of this problem is the length of the female lip of the panel. 1/16" clearance is required for the first bend to occur properly.
When this clearance is not provided the female lip is forced against the panel. With nowhere to go the lip is then pushed downward resulting in a single flat seam or down lip as illustrated.
Solution: Include additional 1/16" clearance in female lip.
Incorporating this additional clearance eliminates the interference, making the first as well as all subsequent bends possible.
